Constructed of ultra duraluminum, the TEIN pillow ball (also called spherical bearing) upper mounts eliminate the deflection that often occurs with stock rubber bushings to provide greater response. This is achieved by replacing the rubber bushings with a NWB spherical bearing which allows for more accurate wheel alignment and also improves tire grip.

The pillow ball upper mount is designed specifically for each vehicle model. TEIN have kept the design and positioning of the upper springs and shock absorber as close to the manufacturer's model as possible in order to keep height change to a minimum while maintaining the stroke centre. The upper mount also incorporates an adjustable camber plate for vehicles with front strut type suspension allowing for a variety of suspension settings according to road conditions.

The upper mounts and adjusting plates are created using ultra A2017S-T4 duraluminum with a gold anodized finish for maximum strength and durability. The serration bolts are constructed from a high tension S45C material and are pressed into the rod.
